Hola,
Do you feel you've been scammed by any of the Velas Resorts? Please feel free to sound off here! I first joined in October 2006. First time in Mexico and I couldn't even get through the stupid airport without making that fatal mistake of connecting with a timeshare salesperson. Only I didn't quite realize it then. I was more intent on getting to my hotel and the promise of a free taxis ride and all new surroundings were the only things on my mind. At the presentation I told them I couldn't afford something so expensive. But they showed me how I could rent my weeks out. Not only that but I would have enough money from the sale to stay somewhere less expensive and have travel money to boot. Sounded good to me so I went for it. But they also said that once I signed I wouldn't be able to change my mind because it was previously owned, whatever that meant.
In the spring of 2009 I went back with the intention of selling it back to them. But instead they showed me again how the weeks would be easier to rent out if I upgraded. Or sell. So like a dumb ass I went along with it. And again they lied to me and told me this was previously owned so I could not change my mind and come back and exercise my 5-day right of rescission.
Now, more than a year later NONE of those weeks have rented. So I've made up my mind.........I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! Roberto Garcia, are you reading this? Tell your boss I'm not going away. I'm going to do everything I can to put a dent in his pocketbook.
Anyone else want to tell your story? Feel free.

Fortunately I did not accept the Velas timeshare but did get the HSI membership because of a promise that was a huge lie. HSI is an american company so I tried the BBB route and I also contacted PROFECO for Velas, I had no luck. I wish you luck, Velas definitely deserve to be prosecuted for their criminal behavior.
The Velas Vallarta is a fraudulent company from it's fake annuities that will 'offset' the principal purchase price to it's convoluted all inclusive messed up contract w 100 stipulations no one can figure out how much it is. They have gotten away with scamming so many for so much. No one seems to take them to task. They skate off free every time, swindling ppl out of thousands. I bought their upgrade & within 24 hrs presented them with a letter of rescission which they flat out refused to accept. They don't abide by Mexican law & try to get unsuspecting members to sign on as soon as they arrive. That way they will outstay the 5 day rescission period, go back home and have no recourse. They should be shut down. The Mexican government should get on top of this but they're profiting from so much additional income that they get in their economy thx to this scam!!!I don't think they lose much sleep over it.
