Just came across this post and had to respond in their comment box.

Answers for your TS concerns, benefits or obligations, is the main reason to contact Member Services Department or Sales Department of your timeshare developer. But, what happen when you ask them about getting your rental income, trying to figure out about unrestricted availability, waiting to be contacted by your sales representative and get your check, and other benefits you find out you can´t have access to them? We have one answer for this; you have been scammed by this company.
- Owning a timeshare will not provide an income to you, it’s stated in every TS contract with the experience of these timeshare developers. As a member you have a right to rent or sell your weeks, but you must do it by yourself and there is no GUARANTEE. People get cheaper packages on the web and nobody will rent your week for those “ballooned” prices you were told at the presentation.
- After purchasing, being ignored by your sales representative is a common activity as they are aware you have a 5 BUSINESS DAYS right to cancel your contract and get a full refund. As soon as they feel you hesitation about keep owning the contract they will ignore you and will respond after the 5 BD period.
- When you try to book, nothing is available as timeshare developers offer “your space” to people with no contracts, people looking for a place to stay using the Internet. Non-members represent the biggest market for TS developers.
Complaints in Mexico against TS developers are based in misrepresentations and lack of service (no availability) so we could affirm 95% may be the correct number in PROFECO´s list. Give us a chance to assist you and demonstrate we are legally capable to help you.
As a matter of fact, we provide a small list of people working in this company you should not talk while you are visiting Mexico:
- Damon Bryan
- Lief Kaupman
- Gloria Dorsey
- Oscar Alfredo Rodriguez
- Xavier Zamora
I subscribe to Google Alerts for 'Velas Scam,' or something to that effect, and came across another site on this topic. So I had to check it out. What I found almost made me drop to the floor in laughter.....
The site is
VelasVallartaScam and it seems to be owned by the Velas! When you go there everything is pro Velas, and it talks about what Velas Vallarta members can experience. Examples are:
1. Sandusky: This appears to be located near Lake Erie. And then they go on to talk about some of the sites and hot spots around this area. Are you kidding me? The Velas and Lake Erie?
2. The Midlands: This is an area South Africa and again they talk about the sites and allure of the area.
3. Jardin Des Glaciers: This is in Quebec and the author talks about the glaciers, guiding expeditions, and how "Velas Vallarta members enjoy the incredible view of beautiful Quebec".
Of course, the whole purpose of the site is to basically sit on the web address and try to route searches for anything 'Velas Scam' to their site filled with all of the wonderful sites and sounds of what the Velas Vallarta has to offer. Of course, after starting out that way they had to start filling the site with other get aways in other places that have no connection to the Velas so as to keep their site at the forefront of search results. This is funny. It reminds me of what some of the censors in China might try if a resident there tried to do a search on 'Tiananmen Square massacre'. Check it out!
